Information You Submit
A name, telephone number, or address entered in a search form is sent to the independent provider that supplies the results. Our servers do not retain a copy of those searches. When you contact us, we receive the contents of your message and use them to respond.
Information Collected by Routine Use
Our hosting service records ordinary technical logs, such as an IP address, browser type, pages requested, and timestamps. We review aggregate information to maintain the site and understand which pages are useful. Cookies or similar tools may also support basic analytics and, when applicable, advertising measurement.
How We Use Limited Information
We use this information to operate the site, resolve technical issues, measure traffic, and improve its pages. We do not sell visitor lists or create individual visitor profiles.
External Websites
Links may lead to Town of Huntington, Suffolk County, New York State, library, archive, or independent-search websites. Their own privacy policies govern information submitted on those sites. This includes sponsored search results delivered by a third-party company.
When Information Is Shared
Hosting and support providers process server logs for us, and analytics or advertising partners may receive the automatic information described above. We disclose information when valid legal process requires disclosure, not for other purposes.
Safeguards and Retention
The site uses an encrypted connection, and logs are retained only for the purposes described above. Because visitors do not create accounts here, the site has no visitor password or account profile to expose.
Visitors Under 18
This site is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. If you believe a minor sent us information, contact us so that we can delete it.
Your Choices and Public Records
You may ask to access, correct, or delete personal information this site retains. Because the site keeps very little, we can generally check the contact mailbox and available server logs promptly; use the Contact page to make a request. This policy does not claim a general New York consumer-privacy statute. New York's Freedom of Information Law, Public Officers Law Article 6, especially §§87-89, instead addresses existing records held by government agencies. Records held by the Town of Huntington, Suffolk County, or New York State remain under the control of their custodians, so a correction or removal request for such a record belongs with that office.
If a concern involves the New York State Address Confidentiality Program, Executive Law §108 and 19 NYCRR Part 134, or confidential voter registration under Election Law §5-508, notify us promptly and contact the responsible official program or elections office. We can address information under our control, but cannot promise deletion from a government archive or other agency record.
Policy Updates
We will post any revision to this policy on this page. Continuing to use the site after a revision means you accept the updated policy.
